HSE raises awareness on International Overdose Awareness Day

The statistics for overdose in Ireland are among the highest in Europe, the HSE warned today on International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD).

The executive in conjunction with the Ana Liffey Drug Project and the National Family Support Network, is marking IOAD to raise awareness of the risks of drug overdoses and the impact on individuals and their families.

“It is important to recognise that behind every death there is a family and a community that is suffering,” said Mr Joe Doyle, HSE National Social Inclusion Planning Specialist
“The theme for the 2015 International Overdose Awareness Day is ‘Rethink and Remember’.
