The worried families all over the country who have come together to help each other

There are many children of addicts in this country. They get up in the morning. They go to school. They eat and drink and play. Like other children, they suffer.

In his article, Ian O'Doherty argued that voluntary sterilisation of drug addicts makes sense, because 'the biggest victims of these vermin are the kids themselves'.

No one wants any child to suffer.

No one would want any child to suffer at the hands of their parents -- be they addicted or otherwise.

But how many children of addicts would say: 'It would be better had I not been born?'
