My son has been on heroin for more than 10 years—and of course I still love him

I'll never forget the gorgeous, happy smile Paul had when he was a baby. You couldn't help feeling good when you looked at him -- and you just had to smile back at him.

When he was two we took him to Butlins and everyone was won over by that glorious smile. I was so proud when he won the Bonny Baby competition two years running.

Thirty years on, Paul is a heroin addict -- and the smile isn't there as often on either of our faces.
