Peruvian Torch Cactus

Short-Term Effects:

Drowsiness / lethargy, visions and hallucinations.

Negative effects include anxiety, nausea, headaches and diarrhoea.

Scientifique / Trade or Slang Name:

Echinopsis Peruviana (Peruvian Torch), Echinopsis Pachanoi (San Pedro).

Method of Use:

Oral Ingestion. The flesh of the cactus can be eaten. The stem of the cactus can be boiled, and the liquid drunk. Another method of use is to peel of the skin of the cactus, dry it, then make it into a powder that can be put into gelatine pills, which is one way of avoiding the bitter taste of the cactus.
