The HSE National Social Inclusion Office held the second 'Families Matter' webinar on the 20th of September for families impacted by a loved one’s substance use.

This online event aimed to support family members impacted by a loved one’s substance use:
- Overdose response: How to recognise and respond to an opioid overdose (including rescue breaths guidance and the administration of naloxone)
- Family supports: Information on the types of supports that are available for families impacted by a loved one’s substance us
- Relapse: Information on the risk of relapse and potential overdose following detoxification
- Questions and answers: Support provided to families by answering questions

The aim of the event was to help empower family members to recognise and respond to drug-related overdose.
This online event aimed to support family members impacted by a loved one’s substance use:
- About the different types of drugs
- How to recognise and respond to a stimulant overdose
- How to recognise and respond to an opioid overdose (including the administration of naloxone)
- Support families by answering the most frequently asked questions
