Professor Colin P. Bradley - Benzodiazepines: A GP Perspective

Professor Colin Bradley was appointed as the foundation Professor of General Practice at University College Cork in 1997. The Department of General Practice, which he heads, has extensive involvement in the teaching of undergraduate medical students in the areas of social sciences, communication skills, basic clinical skills, and primary care as well as clinical general practice. His principal research interests are in the areas of prescribing in general practice, diabetes and heart disease. He has been on a number of national committees including the Commission on Benzodiazepine Prescribing and the Cardiovascular Strategy Review Group. He is currently Chair of the UK and Ireland Drug Utilization Research Group and the Research Ethics of the Irish College of General Practice. He is a former Chief Editor of the European Journal of General Practice.
