Yoga Classes: A 12 Step Discovery Recovery Programme

12 week course in Yoga and the steps
This course is designed for anyone in recovery from addiction. The course offers each person a practical guide to working and living the 12 Steps, it gives support and everyday guide . The course involves participation in the steps which are then supported by relevant Yoga techniques.

Full participation is needed in this course as homework will be given each week e.g. a spiritual diary is kept alongside the moral inventory .
The 12 steps are a spiritual journey and Yoga is perfect as a spiritual practise in supporting the individual in realising his/her HIGHER POWER.

Each class is built around the principles of each step  e.g. Admission step.1 Yoga forward bending (bowing) which develops Humility in the person.
Step 2-3 submission ..Yoga opening up the chest (back bends) breaking down body armour ,being open to our feelings.

The final destination of the course is to teach proper meditation this allows for  restitution and reconstruction of the addictive mental patterns( mental reprogramming and mental detox).
It is through proper meditation that we confront our Ego and gain an objective view of our addictive selves.
