URRÚS & UCD: Diploma in Community Drugs and Alcohol Work

Urrús and University College Dublin. Diploma in Community Drugs and Alcohol Work (NFQ level 7) - 1 Year (part-time).

This comprehensive and professional course is run by Urrús in partnership with University College Dublin and intended  to provide participants with a range of skills and knowledge both academic and practical which will enhance their effectiveness in responding to the complex issue of drug and alcohol misuse within a community environment. 

This programme leading to a NFQ Level 7 Diploma awarded by National University of Ireland, University College Dublin, is based on community development principles and uses adult learning approaches in its delivery.

The programme is accepted as part fulfillment of the educational requirements for membership of IAAAC and offers a progression pathway to B.Soc Science with UCD.

Eligibility: Persons who wish to develop their knowledge and skill in the area of Community Drug/Alcohol work and who have completed a Community Addiction Studies Course or equivalent.

Participants must be over 21 and have the capacity to complete a course at NUI diploma level 7 (NFQ).

Venue:  URRÚS Training Centre, Horizons Centre, Balcurris Rd, Ballymun, D11. National University of Ireland, University College Dublin, Belfield Campus.
Cost: Course fee for the year is: €2,200.00.  In addition there is a one off cost of €25.00 as a nonrefundable administration fee to accompany all applications.
Application: Application can be made by application form only, this form includes a ‘personal statement’ which allows the applicant to identify their reasons for wishing to do the course and how it may benefit them and their community.

Closing Date: Completed application forms and administration fee must be received by Friday May 18th 2012.
