Quitting smoking ‘good for memory’

It is already widely known that quitting smoking is good for your health. Now, new research indicates that giving up the habit is also good for your memory.

"This is the first time that a study has set out to examine whether giving up smoking has an impact on memory," explained Dr Tom Heffernan of Northumbria University in the UK.

Dr Heffernan and his team tested the memories of almost 70 people. Some of the participants were current smokers, some were previous smokers, while some had never taken up the habit.
