Pair plead not guilty to Lancashire man’s alcohol death

Two men charged with the unlawful killing of an Englishman who died from acute alcoholic intoxication in Thurles three years ago have pleaded not guilty.

A bar manager and a barman employed by Hayes Hotel in Thurles, Co Tipperary, have pleaded not guilty to the unlawful killing an Englishman, who died in June 2008 from acute alcoholic poisoning at the hotel.

Nenagh Circuit Court heard today that the victim, Graham Parish, who was staying at the hotel, drank between eight and ten spirits in a pint glass at one point before slumping to the floor.
