On medicine? Make sure you’re still safe to drive

Drink driving is no longer socially acceptable in Ireland but what about driving while under the influence of medicines?

Are you taking prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medication?

The effects of certain drugs can last for some time after use and can result in side-effects including slower reaction times, poor concentration, sleepiness, distorted perception and over-confidence.

If you're taking prescription or OTC medicines you must be sure your ability to drive is not affected.
