South Tipperary, Kerry, Waterford, Roscommon and Cork City have experienced the sharpest rises in the number of heroin addicts seeking help, figures show.
Every county in the country has recorded substantial increases in heroin treatment, ranging from a minimum of 20% to as high as 3,000%.
