New Government neglects the drugs crisis – McDonald

Sinn Féin Deputy Leader Mary Lou McDonald has accused the new Government of continuing the Fianna Fáil/Green Party Government’s neglect of the drugs crisis by failing to appoint a Minister with responsibility for drugs.

Speaking today Deputy McDonald said:

“The Fianna Fáil/Green Party coalition continuously failed to resource the fight against drugs leading to what can only be described as an epidemic in many areas.

“The new Fine Gael/Labour coalition is now continuing where their predecessors left off and in fact have gone one better by failing to even appoint a Minister with responsibility for drugs.
