Minister Carey welcomes release of the Report of the International Narcotics Control Board 2010

Minister Pat Carey has welcomed the publication of the report of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) for 2010.  The publication includes a report on the INCB mission to Ireland in October 2009 which praises the comprehensive co-ordinated approach to the drugs problem here. 

It refers in particular to the approach taken in current National Drugs Strategy (2009-2016) and compliments the close co-operation achieved saying “The Strategy is implemented in close co-operation with all ministries and departments responsible for supply and demand reduction measures”  The degree of co-operation between government agencies and the community and voluntary sectors also comes in for praise, as does the level of co-operation between law enforcement agencies.
