Leitrim Addictions Awareness is very proud to provide this fully accredited level 7 addiction studies course which is to be run in County Leitrim commencing this coming September/October in the Bee Park, Manorhamilton. It is important to recognise the value of this course as it is a level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications, the same level as some diploma courses on offer, and this course should not be confused with any other addiction awareness courses offered recently in Leitrim which are only a level 5, equivalent to leaving cert standard.
Leitrim Addictions Awareness has secured financial support from the North West Regional Drugs Task Force and the Leitrim Development Company Ltd which is being used to subsidise the addiction studies course and assist the community/Voluntary sector in tackling this issue. The funding from the NWRDTF will be administered by County Leitrim VEC which has agreed to facilitate Leitrim Addictions Awareness with this initiative. This will be the fourth consecutive year that the North West Regional Drugs Task Force has supported the NUI Maynooth level 7 Certificate in Addiction Studies course.
