Legal action outcome could prevent minimum alcohol price in Ireland

The Scotch whiskey industry is taking legal action against a new minimum alcohol price in Scotland, it has emerged.

The move could influence whether the Irish Government decides to go through with a similar move.

The Scotch Whisky Association has complained to the European Commission, saying that "moderate drinkers" were being made to pay for a "misguided" and illegal policy.
