HSE Drug and Alcohol Helpline Christmas Opening Hours

Christmas can be a difficult time for some people. If you need support for your own substance use or someone else's, you can free phone the HSE Drug and Alcohol Helpline on 1800 459 459. 

The Helpline will be open Monday 21st - 24th of December and closed until Tuesday the 29th of December. Please see the below opening hours.

 

  • Mon 21st Dec 9.30am-5.30pm
  • Tues 22nd Dec 9.30am-5.30pm
  • Wed 23rd Dec 9.30am-5.30pm
  • Thurs 24th Dec 9.30am-2pm
  • Closed Christmas Day
  • Closed Mon 28th Dec
  • Tues 29th Dec 9.30am-5.30pm
  • Wed 30th Dec 9.30am-5.30pm
  • Thurs 31st Dec 9.30am-2pm
  • Closed New Years Day

Mon 4th Jan, normal opening hours resume: Mon-Fri, 9.30am-5.30pm.

This is a support and information based service.

In case of a drug-related emergency

In case of an emergency relating to drugs such as if someone becomes unwell or feels suicidal, call 999/112 and be honst about the situation. It is important to get help and not to leave a person alone.
