Fury at policy on addicts at centre

The treatment of drug addicts exposed in the recent RTE programme on the Victory outreach centre has been condemned by a local councillor.

Cllr. Peter Dempsey said he was disgusted at the way the residents of the centre were treated.

'I was appalled at the treatment handed out to the residents of this so-called addiction programme where people who were trying their best to avoid the drug scene were forced to frequent nightclubs and public houses to beg for funds as they could not go back to the so-called hostels or safe house unless they had raised a certain amount of money.
