Crosscare workshop: Families: the Silent Majority Impacted by Addiction

Workshop

Crosscare’s Community Education Programme will be hosting a workshop entitled: “Families: the Silent Majority Impacted by Addiction” –a unique workshop developed and delivered by Stephen Rowen, former Clinical Director of the Rutland Centre on Wednesday 27th November 2013.

Overview

This workshop is intended to assist addiction counsellors and other substance misuse professionals working in the field to expand their knowledge of how both substance-based and process-based addictions impact on partners, parents and other family members. The presentation will discuss in depth the parallel process that occurs as both those in trouble with misuse and addiction and their loved ones move from denial to despair. This workshop will not only highlight the depth and breadth of the severity of impact on the families, but important life skills needed for the on-going recovery of all concerned.
