Beach users warned to leave the booze at home

Sun-worshippers have been warned not to bring alcohol to the beach and to clear their rubbish after a council spent six hours removing litter strewn across one popular strand.

Eight council officials filled four truckloads of litter at Portmarnock beach in north Dublin after a mass exodus of people to the coast at the weekend.
