Claim State in breach over medicinal cannabis use

He has claimed that the Irish Government is in breach of the Schengen Agreement which allows people who take medicine that is legal in one Schengen country to bring this medicine as they travel to other participating countries.

A Department of Health spokesperson has said that under current Irish law any person entering the country with medicinal cannabis could be charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act. There are no exemptions and the Minister has no intention of changing this law.
