HSE Drug and Alcohol Helpline Opening Times Christmas 2021
The festive season can be a difficult time for many, including people who use substances and their families.
If you need to talk about alcohol and other drugs, consider calling the HSE Drug and Alcohol Helpline who can provide you with information and support for your personal situation.
Regular service times for this service are Monday - Friday from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm on freephone 1800 459 459 or through email at helpline@hse.ie.
The service will be open on the below times and dates for the Christmas Period 2021.
- Monday 20th December to Thursday 23rd December open regular hours from 9.30am-5.30pm
- Fri 24th Dec (Christmas Eve) open limited time from 9.30am-1:00pm
- Service Closed: Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th December
- Wednesday 29th December and Thursday 30th December open 9.30am-5.30pm
- Friday 31st December (New Years Eve) open limited time from 9.30am-1:00pm
- Service Closed: Monday 3rd January closed
- Tuesday 4th January until Fri 7th January open as normal from 9.30am-5.30pm

In cases of emergency relating to drug overdose or suicide, call 999/112 or go to your nearest hospital. Don't be afraid to get help, the medics are there to support you.
