Kratom

Category: Opiate
Short-Term Effects:

Euphoric-like feeling, similar to the effects of heroin and opium. At lower doses, kratom has a stimulating effects, but a sedative effect at higher doses. Sleepiness can come without warning. Other effects include analgesia and cough suppression. Negative effects include headaches, dry mouth, increased urination, loss of appetite, constipation.

Long-Term Effects:

Frequent use can result in withdrawal symptoms such as muscle aches, irritability, a runny nose, diarrhoea and muscle jerking (when consumption stops). Other long-term effects could include dark patches of skin discoloration on one’s cheeks, and weight loss.

How long it stays in the body:

Approximately 6 hours

Method of Use:

Kratom is available in the form of leaves, powder and resin. It can be chewed or smoked, or made into a tea.
