Dublin Minister Calls For Young Drug Dealers To Get Second Chance

There are high-level calls to wipe the slate clean for people prosecuted for drugs offences as teens.

Minister for Drugs, Catherine Byrne, says convictions are stopping young and disadvantaged people from breaking the cycle of criminality and moving on.

The Dublin South Central TD reveals she's met young people in communities across Dublin who want a normal life; but are finding the prosecution is preventing them from turning it around.

She's told the Sunday Business Post how a mum of two has been drug free for ten years but can't get a job as a healthcare worker.
