Four-year EU plan against drugs launched

Funding to the tune of €21m is to be made available under the scheme, while the number of information programmes to highlight the dangers of illegal drug abuse is also set to increase.

Fianna Fáil MEP Eoin Ryan said fighting drug crime requires the sharing of intelligence to track criminals across borders.

He said the programme was one worthy of support, with many benefits for EU member states.
